I've been selling VoIP in the company... I better get my stuff together and get the corp Routers up and running for QoS (that is DiffServ). The little detail is, all the routers are Linux boxes... And telling management "spend x*1000USD in each office to get new Cisco boxes..." I doubt they'd like to hear that...

Here's some links of i've been reading... and I think i can hack it with the infra i have right now...


  • Practical QoS -- Invaluable insight into the workings of DiffServ and Linux's implementation of it.. Could improve on the english though!

  • Voice over IP -- Special page summarizing what is needed to traffic VoIP over IP networks (at least at router level).
  • Traffic control, Next generation -- Traffic control in linux is very powerfull but a PAIN to setup.. These guys have a tool to make life easier for mere mortals.
