Protocultura.cl was always conceived as a testbed for get my hards dirty with new Internet ideas and technologies as they get developed. This is important since I'm slowly being sucked into management positions and I don't want to end being a PHB that get all his informacion from vendors and sellers of semi-lies. Best way I know to filter out the bullshit is to throw it against the fence and see what sticks. If in the process of doing that, i can generate some semi-decent content, all the better.
Short term plans for this site are (in general order of priority)
- Pingbacks and trackbacks for the blog (sending and receiving)
- Public open Single-signon via OpenId
- Multi-language for the interfaces (EN, ES and NL pages)
- Just for laughs: add a firefox / IE7 search interface
- ...
- Google sitemap ping when a new page is added.
- Anti-comment and linkback spam with Akismet
- Being able to post with the performancer firefox add-on.
Medium term plans:
- Add a section for foto albums both public and authenticated.
- Add a section for keeping track of these projects in a more organized fashon.
Longterm plans:
- Develop a Backbase based site that has the same blog content.
Currently this site is build on the data foundations of nucleus (my previous blog software) with all of the site software implemented with Django which ofcourse uses the excelent python language.
